I might be only 12 days old, but I know how to make a phone call. Daddy, please buy some extra formula and don't forget the diapers! I am pooping like a champion. Oh, and by the way, I won't forgive you for sticking a thermometer up my butt when I had my first constipation.
Mom, I need food, not that 'giant thing' you keep sticking in my mouth! Don't you know that no matter how much I suck on it, no food is coming out?!

Today was our Second Doctor's Visit
On the first doctor visit I lost a little weight from what I left the hospital with. Nothing to worry folks, the doctor said it was normal. On my second visit, which was yesterday January 28, I surprised everyone. I had gained 10 ounces in 5 days. Surprisingly well for a 'peanut' my size, eh?! According to the book mom was reading and of course based on what the doctor said, the average weight gain for babies is about 1 1/2 oz per day. Well, you do the math! 5 days, 10 oz = average gain 2 oz per day. Uh-hoo, if I keep going like this, I might be 7 lb by the end of my first month... only if I can get rid of that nasty constipation I am having ;-)

Nicholas' First Baby Bath
Today was was Nicholas' first baby bath. He loved it. Scrubbing and bubbling in the baby bear sponge was awesome. For the first time he wasn't crying when he was bare naked. He was twisting and making funny sounds. I guess the bath helped and overnight, what was left from the umbilical cord, just fell off.
The bath made us so hungry, that eating wasn't an issue. We ate like champions and like we haven't seen food in ages. Not that he takes a lot at this stage, but still...he ate. We are up to 2 oz. a day, which s lasting us for about 2-3 hours f sleep. Nights for Ellie and myself are getting shorter though. The very first night I was asking Ellie if we can return the baby (just a joke) or at least take the battery off :-)

Nicholas' First Car Ride
How do you keep a baby in a car seat? It's not easy. He kept on sliding down and bopping left and right. You can't even strap him well as the belts are to short to go over the blankets. What the heck, Mommy's gonna hold me tight on the back seat. To be honest though, I am feeling a lot more comfortable in my baby stroller :-)

Little Nicholas is now holding on to Daddy
It's good when you're holding onto daddy, but this was one heck of a grip :-) He's getting stronger by the minute. Nicholas is now taking in about 2 ounces baby food on every feeding, which is keeping us in bed for a little longer at a time. Last two nights have been good. We slept while he was sleeping and then taking turns on feeding him. Ellie's doing great for a first time Mommy.
We love the exercise, especially after taking a bath. Last night he was kicking and stretching, while we were sponging him. He looked so cute in the baby bear sponge bed.

It's a Baby Boy
The day has come! Nicholas Ivanov was born on January 18, 2008. He was brought into this world at 6:01 pm, just about when President Bush announced that there would be a tax break :-) I guess little Nikky 'smelled' the money.
He was delivered with a c-section, with no complications, at a healthy weight and a healthy length. He gave us a run for our money! Nicholas' weight was healthy 5 lb (3 kg) and length 17.5 inches (45 cm). For a 36 weeks baby, he did just great.
Just check out my proud grand-parents. They are all beeming. I guess they can't wait to spoil me.
